Immigration desk computers at various US airports went down for about two hours on Monday, causing long lines for travelers entering the US after year-end holidays, according to Customs and Border Protection and posts on social media.
A cryptic tweet from Julian Assange with a 60-character code and link to a popular rap song has sparked claims he could have left the Ecuadorian Embassy.
Are the two events connected? Think further…
Fans of the WikiLeaks founder have suggested the post could be a “Dead Man’s Switch” before dumping new secret files. The computer hacker tweeted the bizarre message with a YouTube video of Mia’s Paper Planes, which includes boasts such as “I got more records than the KGB”.
Internet sleuths were quick to decode this message, speculating its meaning:
Could this really mean Trump has secretly cut a deal with Assange in order to access the valuable information Assange has? In the past, Assange has offered his services to Trump for a pardon.
The posting followed some a bizarre period of activity on his Twitter account @JulianAssange.
It disappeared on Christmas Day between 12am and 1am when people were directed to an error message, but then remerged later the same day. Assange, who has been residing in the embassy since 2012 to avoid extradition to Sweden for questioning over alleged sex attacks, then posted the strange tweet on New Year’s Day.
This sparked a wave of speculation, including that the IT genius is now working with US President Donald Trump. One said: “It signals another Wikileaks drop is imminent.”
Another said: “Look for something big on January 4th, 10th, and 20th.
To further add validity to the speculation, internet legend QAnon posted this message:With QAnon saying Assange is a “key player in justice”, many people really have begun buying into the Trump-Assange alliance theory.
